Hi, I’m Kerrin Revell, welcome to my journey of thought, which today is about a trip to the library.
I was at the library… it’s true this time. I wasn’t hanging out with my friends and causing mischief. No, really! Genevieve and I were at the Kaukapakapa Library to promote our latest book; the Sillyverse.
We had a great time, talking with the locals about the history of the area, why we wrote the book and everything in between. Kids had fun flipping through the Sillyverse and looking at all the old photos and books in the library. We even got out and bought a few items at the market.
The Library itself is a beautiful little building, only a few metres squared. It was built in the 19th century and basically remains untouched. Although it has jumped to and from both sides of the road a couple of times.
The Kaukapakapa Library is a must-see part of New Zealand history and you can visit it whenever the Kaukapakapa Markets are on. You can’t miss it, there are lots of signs.
